At Castaway Cove

Luxury Holiday Cottage in Scotland

A wildly romantic & unique setting in the calm of the North West Highlands

Here at Coorie Cottage we are ready to welcome guests back after lockdown.  To ensure our guests’ safety in the COVID era we are committed to following the Government guidelines and ASSC best practice with cleaning and disinfection of the cottage. We have undergone training and accreditation and are now happy to report that we are part of the ‘Good To Go’ Scheme and have completed the ASSC training certificate for COVID cleaning and disinfection.

The Scottish word “Coorie” means; “A hug or embrace… the Scottish art of providing comfort, wellbeing and energy from wild landscapes and welcoming interiors”.

Escape to Coorie Cottage in the Scottish Highlands

A truly unique and remote, luxury, dog friendly holiday cottage for two in the most romantic and peaceful setting by the sheltered waters of Castaway Cove.  Previously named Castaway Cottage and now called Coorie Cottage, it is set amid stunning mountains and natural woodland and sits in perfect calm on the shores of Loch Broom.  Book your escape now!

Here in this stunning part of the North West Highlands our guests will discover the perfect retreat set in seven acres of its own grounds with private foreshore, beach and jetty.

To reach the cottage is an adventure in itself.  Descending over 700 feet to the shore side of the cove, Corrie Cottage emerges as the perfect hideaway on a private beach, sheltering in the foothills of An Teallach, one of Scotland’s most magnificent mountains.

Whether a honeymoon, anniversary, proposal or just an away from it all break, this is the perfect place for guests seeking that opportunity to escape and immerse themselves in a  Scottish experience that is as special as it is truly memorable. It is really no surprise that Coorie Cottage was nominated one of the four most romantic destinations in the UK by the Daily Telegraph in 2015.

Five miles from the nearest habitation but just a short boat ride from the historic village of Ullapool, where boat trips and ferry rides to the Summer Isles and the islands of the Outer Hebrides run daily.

This wilderness setting is unspoilt and preserved by only letting the cottage to two people at a time for a limited part of the year.

The Cottage

The Bedroom

The vaulted ceiling bedroom is a wonderful space. The room is finished off with a solid oak four-poster bed with optional duck feather pillows and organic, natural cotton luxury bed linen.

The Lounge

Solid oak floors, sheep skin rug, HD television, small library and a wood burning stove, once you’ve sat in the reclining leather chair you’ll not want to move.

The Hot Tub

Relax in the Scandinavian style hot tub with a chilled bottle of wine and star gaze by night, or take in the dramatic views during the day, in this magical, remote and romantic location with complete privacy.

Be surrounded by nature and unspoilt beauty of the natural world

The Area

Staying at Coorie Cottage you will be sharing the landscape with a vast array of marine animals, birds, fish, plants and trees.  You will also have the opportunity to completely relax and if you really want to, digitally detox.  Take advantage of the seven acres of private land with 3 acres fenced dog proof garden around the cottage, it is yours to freely roam.

Day trips, wildlife watching, boat trips or a spot of lunch in Ullapool are easily organised and the North West Highlands are a great part of the world to explore.  Fishing equipment, a kayak and the loch on your doorstep mean there is no need to venture too far if you would rather relax and take it all in.

Superb Location

On The Shores Of Loch Broom

Relax and enjoy your little piece of paradise. Total isolation, tranquility and the freedom to spend your time your way.  Enjoy the beautiful surroundings, a spot of fishing, or we can take you out on our RIB boat over to Ullapool for lunch.

Fresh Local Seafood

In our opinion there is nothing better than fresh West coast seafood either in a wrap with salad from The Seafood Shack, or fine dining in The Royal Hotel.

Abandon the “thousand mile an hour” way of life, submit to the inevitable and totally relax

The Experience

Coorie Cottage is not just another holiday home.  The extraorinary location and the stunning beauty of this very special corner of the Highlands affords our guests an unparalleled opportunity to experience the real comfort of a beautiful holiday home in a location not normally available to the traveller.

Our remote situation lends itself to off roading 4×4 vehicles as the track to the cottage can be a challenge to smaller low slung cars.  Hiring a four wheel drive is a good idea if you plan on exploring or we offer a free of charge ferry up and down the track so you can relax and let us take care of the driving.
